He was predeceased by: his wife Kathryn Chisholm Matson; his daughter Dana Kay Matson; his granddaughter Kelli Georgeanne Baker; his brother Bill Matson; and his parents, Della Banks Cox Matson and George Lovel Matson.
He is survived by: his daughter Paula Matson Panchak (Rob); his grandchildren, Dana Marie Campbell (John), Kathryn Leigh Baugher (Chris), Veronica Carl and Kristin Dane Baker; his brother Boyd Matson; his sister-in-law Betty Hudson; and his close friend Kathryn Allen. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
