He is survived by: his wife Sherry Carlton (Sweatt); his pet Paisley of Franklin; his daughters, Elizabeth Carlton of New Braunfels and Amy Carlton (Taylor Ihlefeld) of New Braunfels; his siblings, Kathy Rodenberger (Mark) of Weatherford, Ricky Carlton (Gayle) of Chester and Randy Carlton (Regina) of Chester; his grandchildren, Rebecca Carlton, Steven Kalke, Kelsey O'Neill, Oliver Ihlefeld and Jensen Ihlefeld; his great grandchildren, Kevin Stowe, Jacob Stowe, Raven Stephenson, Caden Stephenson, Elizabeth Kalke, Arthur Kalke and RaeLynn Little; his mother-in-law Billie Jo Sweatt; his brother James Sweatt (Amber Sager); and his aunt Joann Parkman.
