He was predeceased by: his parents, Dora Lochte Eckhardt, Sr. and Edwin A. Eckhardt; his wife Esther Juenke Eckhardt; his brothers, Wesley Eckhardt and Chester Eckhardt; and his great grandchild Elena Eckhardt.
He is survived by: his son Elston (Joy Eckhardt); his grandchildren, Elise (Alex Slaybaugh) and Joel (Erika Eckhardt); and his great grandchildren, Henry Slaybaugh, Paige Slaybaugh and Andrew Eckhardt.
