He was predeceased by: his father Herman; his wife Madeleine Ellis; and his brother Clayton Roy Moss. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathryn Gipson (Gaylon) and Shannon Crofts; his son-in-law Scott; his grandchildren, Cory Gipson, Nicole Lara (Alejandro), Cody Crofts (Caitlan) and Dalton Crofts (Sammie); his great grandchildren, Isabella Lara and Weston Crofts; his sisters, Linda Fowler (Joe) of Laurel, MS and Mitzi O'Flynn (Tommy) of Phoenix City, AL; and his brother-in-law Paul Ellis (Sheri) of Matagorda.
