He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ernst and Erna Schmidt Ernst (Fredericksburg); and his brother Alton Ernst (Marlene). He is survived by: his wife Doris Ernst; his stepchildren, Darrell Brogdon (LeAnn) of Kansas City, Kay Wells of Austin and Susan Brogdon of San Antonio; his sister Janet Sedwick (Roy); and his nephew Jason Barnes (Robin). He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
