He is survived by : his mother Maria Reyes Zapata; his wife Maria Leticia "Letty" Saavedra of Freer, Texas; his son Omar Daniel Zapata of Freer, Texas; his granddaughter Maya Annette Rios; his son-in-law Adam Rios of College Station, Texas; his siblings, Eugenio Zapata Jr. (Sylvia) of Freer, Texas, Alfredo Zapata (Yolanda) of San Diego, Texas, Leonel Zapata (Cheryl) of Freer, Texas and Alicia; his godson Lorenzo Garcia; his siblings-in-law, Romeo Moreno, Larry Sambrano and Rose Carrasco (Ernie); and his close friend Martha Wallace. He is also survived by his family and friends.
