He was predeceased by : his parents, Phillip Saiz and Prudencia Hoehne Saiz; and his brothers, Phillip, Silo, Rueben and Paul.

He is survived by : his wife Janice Carthel of Friona; his children, Max Saiz of Larned, Robert Leon Saiz (Julie) of Pampa, Daniel D. Saiz of Clovis, Johnny Valdez of Friona, Joel Valdez (Kathy) of Sandia Park, Jeffery Valdez of Glendale, Samantha Knispel (Billy) of Wichita and Julie Mason (Sean) of Lubbock; and his sisters, Inez Garcia of Clovis, Maryann Prior (Ken) of Clovis, Irene Wildee (Bob) of Beaverton, Judy Menold (Dan) of Torrence and Sandra Larson (Bob) of Lansing Michigan.
