He was predeceased by: his parents, Buell E. Sanders and Marie Sanders; and his brothers, Charles "Chilly" Sanders, Billy Sanders and Sheldon Sanders.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kay" Lee Pilcher; his children, Michelle Terrell (Kenny) of Merritt Island and Darin Sanders of Dallas, Texas.; his grandchildren, Jessica Sullivan (Hunter), Ashley Dalton (Tyler) of Atlanta, Georgia and Jacob Terrell of Merritt Island, Florida; and his great grandchildren, Teagan and Alida.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home (815 S Main St, Friona, TX 79035). The inurnment will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 3:15 PM at the Friona Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to a local ASPCA chapter or animal rescue organization of the donor's choice, or to St. Francis Hospice of Florida (https://reflectionslsc.org).
