He was predeceased by: his father Lee Roy Baty. He is survived by: his mother Bettye Todd Baty; and his siblings, David Baty (Patti) of Richardson and Donna Baty Veenendaal (Alan) of Tyler. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews, nine great-nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rose Lawn Cemetery with the purpose/memo of "Historic Smith Cemetery" and those funds will be used by the cemetery for the historic area where Gary is to be buried, and where he has spent many hours working over the years.
