Jack Moore Scott Jr. Obituary

Jack Moore Scott, Jr., passed peacefully away on August 25, 2019, at the age of 76. Jack was the first child of Jack Scott, Sr. and Patricia Clough Scott, who preceded him in death. His younger siblings, Sara Ring, Charles Scott, Sr., and Patrick Scott also preceded him in death.

Jack was born in Burkburnett, Texas, on September 24, 1942. He grew up and lived in Frisco, Texas. He graduated from Frisco High School and then attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in Finance and Accounting. He was presented The Wall Street Journal Award upon graduation in 1964.

Jack began his professional life at The First State Bank in Frisco. He spent his career there serving as an officer and as a member of the Board of Directors. He was a vital part of the community of Frisco and watched it grow from his childhood until the end of his days. Because of Jack's love for the arts, he longed to bring the magic of acting and Broadway musicals to the community that once was small, to soften the booming growth of Frisco with a continuing feeling of home. One of the things he will be remembered for by the original community is founding, with a few others, the original Frisco Community Theater. He was endearingly presented with a special award, "The Scottie Award", after the theater was created.

Jack was a brilliant, creative man, with a beautiful mind. He loved a wide spectrum of art, theater and music. The beautiful works of artists long gone amazed him, and he was intrigued by the creativity of artists like Beethoven and Michelangelo. Jack was an amateur photographer. He was gifted in and enthused with mathematics, history, foreign affairs, geography and astronomy. He loved nature and the stars and the night sky. He loved to travel and found peace with the Rocky and Teton Mountains as well as in The Grand Canyon and The Great Salt Lake.

Jack Scott, Jr. made the world a better place. His legacy of compassion and deep desire for peace will stand as a memorial to his kind, compassionate soul. One of Jack's favorite quotes from a book he loved provides a glimpse into his heart: "And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Kristina Rasmussen, married to Robert; his daughter, Ebby Scott; his sister, Nancy Ferguson, married to Scott; his nieces and nephews: Virginia Moore, Charles Scott, Jr., Jack Scott, III, Kimberly Williams, and Katie Wiley.
