Leota Jost Obituary
We announce the death of Leota Jost of Frisco, Texas, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 93. Leota will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Leota will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Leota will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Leota’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Otto and Dorothy Otto. She is survived by: her children, Rick Jost (Mindy), Teresa Jost-Larsen (David) and Doug Jost (Laura); her grandchildren, Katie Wong (Jae), Rachel, Jacob and Ethan Jost; and her great grandchildren, Ollie and Elliot. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (206 6th Ave, Durant, IA 52747).
