He is survived by: his close friend Lois Carver of Fruitvale; his children, Eddie Akins (Kim) of Fruitvale, Michael Akins (Debbi) of Grand Saline and Kim Adams (Jason) of Canton; his sister Helen Craine of Pleasant Grove; his grandchildren, Rena, Misty, Megan (Nicky), Charlie, Eric (Candice), Cody, Ashley (Michael), Brittany (Mason), Justin, Jeremy, Lucas, Heather (Brendon), Kaitlin (Chad) and Kassie; and his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Gerald, Persephone, Parker, Owen, Kenley, Raelyn, Kaden, Tanner, Trever, Rylee, Tukker, Tuff, Ryken, Luke, Royce, Brinley, Cooper, Carter, Paxton and Grady. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
