He was predeceased by: his mothers, Winifred Mitchell and Mary Mitchell; his wife Dorothy Lowry; and his siblings, Carlton Mitchell and Linda Phelps.
He is survived by: his daughter Melissa West (Johnny); his grandson Slayter West; and his siblings, Wanda Perry (Bobby), Eunice Graves, Lou Nolen (Dewain), Benny Mitchell and Marty Mitchell (Lavonna). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home (602 Lindsay St, Gainesville, TX 76240). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
