She was predeceased by: her parents, Magdaleno Garcia and Felicita Garcia (Martinez); her husband Jose C. Mendez; her daughter Virginia; and her son-in-law Terry Ashby.
She is survived by: her children, Maria Yeargan (John) of Whitesboro, Lucia Robledo (Noe) of Gainesville, Rosa M. Mendez (Lazaro) of Gainesville, Josephina Wheeler of Marietta, OK, Consuelo Garcia of Sanger and Paul Mendez (Sarah) of Gainesville; her niece Refugia Dubrule (Alfred); and her grandchildren, Rafael, Matias Jr., Roberto, Noe Jr., Dolores, Christina, Rodrigo Jr., Amanda, Juanita, Laura (Jamie), Jose, Cecilia, Carlos Jr., Rebecca, Jorge, Andrew, Diego, Gabriel, Abel, Emalyn, Brynann and Ava. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home (602 Lindsay St, Gainesville, TX 76240).
