He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Finney and Hazel Allen Finney; his brother Leroy Finney, Jr. (Veronica); and his aunts, Bettye Davis and Yvonne Whitfield.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Strawn; his daughters, Jessica Finney Mohrweis (Pastor Mark Mohrweis) and Erica Finney; his grandchildren, Maxwell, Ellis and Cora Mohrweis; his siblings, Howard Finney, Stanley Finney (LaMonica) and Lesia Spradling (Danny); and his siblings-in-law, Deneen Reed, Richard Strawn (Lori) and Theresa Finney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
