He is survived by: his children, Amanda Lara, Gilbert Lara Jr. (Joanna), Miranda Lara, Nicholas Lara and Dallas Lara; his grandchildren, Isaiah Alvarado, Isaac Lara, Alexia Garcia, Elijah Lara, Adalyn Lara and Josiah Lara; and his siblings, Mary Alice Otero (Robert), Lupe Lara Jr., Stephen Lara, John Lara, Sylvia Alvizo and Joe Lara (Jamie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and family friends.
