He was predeceased by: his parents, Athens James Turner and Jennie V. Anderson; his wife Bessie Faye Alexander Turner; his son Arthur Charles Turner; his stepfather Frank Reedy; and his brothers, Sgt. Athens J. Turner, Rev. Jimmy Reedy and Albert McCoy.
He is survived by: his children, Joyce Ann Smith and Michael James Turner; his granddaughter Kimberla Sharial Turner (Michael Starling); and his daughter Debra K. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
