We announce the death of Alfredo Peña of George West, Texas, who passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 77. Alfredo will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grabiela R. Peña and Gonzalo R. Peña; and his sister Aurora Peña Hasette. He is survived by: his wife Sulema Zuniga; his children, Cindy Peters (Troy) of San Antonio, Texas, Alfredo Peña Jr. (Chessy) of Seminole, David Peña (Phuong) of Austin and Marcus Peña (Yeixys) of San Antonio, Texas; and his siblings, Ray Peña of Fort Worth, Richard Peña (Mary) of San Antonio, Oscar Peña (Angela) of San Antonio, Simon R. Peña (Rosalia Ena), Elodia P. Flores (Nick) of George West, Texas and Gloria Valadez (Arturo) of George West, Texas. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. George Catholic Church (304 Crockett St, George West, TX 78022). A rosary was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at the St. George Catholic Cemetery (101 Catholic Cemetery Rd, George West, TX 78022).
