He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward Smith and Annie Adella Smith (Lamprecht); his sister Sandra Klare; and his stepson Corey Masters. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elaine Schroeter; his children, Deborah Humphreys and Douglas Smith; his grandchildren, Austin, Brandon, Jake, Jacob, Lauren, Logan and Marilyn; and his great grandchildren, Hayes, Waylon, Asher and Elsie Mae.
