He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Judy Krodel Thyen and Bernard Anthony Thyen; his former wife Mary Ann Heller; and his sisters, Judy Kay Murphy and Sylvia Ann Carson.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Sue Thyen; his children, Dr. Andrew Bernard "Andy" Thyen (Danielle), Adam Heller Thyen (Nikki), Catherine Elizabeth "Katie" Haas (Dudley) and Peter Allen Thyen (Kara); his grandchildren, Brady Thyen, Tanner Thyen, Bella Thyen, Harper Haas, Emmy Thyen, Charlie Haas, Lily Thyen, Trainor Thyen, Hugh Haas, Calvin Thyen and Norma; his daughters, Reagan Roseberry Steppe (Peter) and Brooke Roseberry Zimmerman (Neil); his grandchildren, Spencer Steppe, Rhett Steppe, Lila Rose Steppe, Hank Steppe, Clifton Zimmerman and Fez Zimmerman; and his sister Marilyn Morrow (Len). He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
