He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland Gilbert and Mildred Holloway Gilbert; and his former wife Donna Maher. He is survived by: his wife Barbara of Georgetown; his children, John Gilbert (Donna) of Huntsville, Robert Gilbert (Tamra) of Leander, Christina Gilbert Peter (Greg) of Huntsville, Sheila Ellis Slagel of Leander and Valerie Ellis Bowden (Bill) of Gause; and his siblings, Betty Maples and Bill Gilbert (Janet). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
