He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Mehaffey and Marita Miner Mehaffey. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Schlenker; his sister Linda Kness of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and his pet Abbie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or the Guide Dogs of Texas.
