She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Pearlie Jewell Taylor Harvel (Pearl Jewel) and Benjamin Franklin Harvel (BF); her adoptive father William Terrell Laughlin; her husband Dwain Adrian Whitaker; her children, Devonn LaValley (Butch (Edward)), William Westermann, Ellen Owens, Tabatha Waldrop and Johnny Waldrop (Missi); her former husbands, Larry Westermann and Tiny Waldrop; her friend Jeanie Hudson; and her daughter Doris. She was also cherished by her eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter in Doris's memory, to continue her lifelong love and care for dogs.Rest in peace, dearest mother.
