John Wayne Murphy Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Wayne Murphy (Georgetown, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 22, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsey L. Murphy and Beatrice M. Murphy (McCauley) of Clarksburg. He is survived by: his wife Judith Smith; his daughters, Alyson E. Baer (Jason) of Bloomington, Indiana, Sarah M. Kinsey (Ed) of Austin, Texas and Kathleen E. Skinner (Aaron) of Round Rock, Texas; his grandchildren, Annika, Ethan, Kaya, Tyler, Ainsley and Evangeline; and his brother Keith (Shirley) of Clarksburg.
He later filled administrative positions at various colleges, including Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, before being invited to join the founding staff of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, NJ.
