He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Earl and Mary Margaret Smallwood. He is survived by: his fiancée Florence Kirk of Danbury Connecticut; his sons, John D. Smallwood (Sheila Havard Smallwood) of Petal and Eric R. Smallwood (Aimee C. Smallwood) of St. Clair, Michigan; his grandchildren, Kate Smallwood, Abby Smallwood of Petal, Cameron Smallwood of Kokomo, Delaney Dolland and Jack Dolland of St. Clair, Michigan; and his siblings, Helen Smallwood Jinks (Michael) of Greenville and Richard A. Smallwood of Huntsville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
