He is survived by: his close friend Sandra Kay Phillips; his children, Scott, Robin, Steven and Matthew Russell; his wife Sandy; his daughter Karen Schwausch of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Bryon, Lauren, Madeline and Alyson; his son Christopher Mierzejewski of Queen Creek, AZ; his grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Katherine and Megan; his daughters, Wendy Schwausch (Wendish) of Southborough, MA and Amanda Schwausch of Granbury, TX; his granddaughter Leah; his daughter Katie Schwausch of Ramona, CA; his sister Kathryn Branson; his niece Dr. Kayce Stansell (Jud); his great-nephews, Max and Evan; his nephew Austin Branson (Hannah); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Asher, Shane and Linnea; and his parents-in-law, Martha Phillips, Bobby Phillips (Connie), Diana Jolly (Ken), Cheryl Carling (Bruce) and Steven Phillips (Linda). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.

Their service to our country was something Russell was very proud of, and it provided a foundation of strength and courage for generations that have followed.
