He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard Bowman and Nannie Kate Bowman; and his former wife Catherine Margaret Cockerell. He is survived by: his wife Susan Howard Bowman; his sons, Rusty Bowman (Deborah), Randy Lynn Bowman, David Howard Bowman (Kristen), Robert Hugh Bowman and Richard Wayne Bowman; his stepchildren, Ned Bennett Prestridge and Sophie Lorraine Martin; his grandchildren, Zachary Andrew Bowman, Payton Catherine Bowman, Chase William Bowman, Mandi Lynn Bowman, Lane Bennett Prestridge, Molly Elizabeth Martin, Katie Jane Martin and Hope Elise Martin; and his former spouse Bobbie Reaves.

A celebration of life will be held later in 2021 once his wife Susan recovers from Covid.

In lieu of flower donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
