He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Herman Cantrell and Stella Lucille Corkill; and his siblings, Stella Christine and William Herold. He is survived by: his stepsons, Andrew Jonathan (Stephanie) of Georgetown, TX and Christopher Blake (Jeny) of Lincoln, NE; his former wife Kay Margaret Bayro of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Claire, Grace, Olivia, Abby and Joshua (Brenda) of Huntsville, TX; and his stepsons, Demerey Smith (Ann) of Mandeville, LA, Dustin Smith (Eric) of Austin, TX, Damey McEntire (Bailey) of Port Orchard, WA and Derrick McEntire (Nichole) of Huntsville, TX. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren, two nieces, and two nephews.
