He is survived by: his friend Jim Wolf; his wife Mary Ann Bamsch of Giddings; his daughter Janet; his son-in-law Ben Meuth of Giddings; his granddaughter Jena Lynn (Steven Ahsan) of Giddings; his siblings, Kenneth Bamsch (Alice) of Houston, Charlyn Matthijetz (Marvin) of Loebau and Linda Herbrich of La Grange; and his siblings-in-law, Mildred Bamsch of Houston, Lil Robertson of Northrup, Marvin Arldt of Houston, William Krause of Serbin and Donnie Krause (Bobbie) of Northrup. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home - Giddings (3950 E Austin St, Giddings, TX 78942). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (300 N Grimes St, Giddings, TX 78942).
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Early Childhood Center, Immanuel Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one's choice.
