He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtis Ann Schultz; his parents, Cleo Stephens and Mary Stephens; his siblings, Ernest Stephens, Dale Stephens, Donald Stephens, Mary Loyce Boucher, Melba Woodson, Francis Weaver and June Clark; his son Clinton Ray Stephens; and his grandson Clinton Joshua Stephens.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Stephens (Rhonda), Randy Stephens (Prissy) and Kim Berger (Leo); his grandchildren, Hannah Stephens, Shannon Dutton, Tiffany Barber (Raymond), Steffany Jewell (Seth), Sara Allen (Chase), Lana Yarbrough (Eric), Lara Armas, Ryan Berger (Courtney) and Kirk Berger; and his sisters, Bena Green and Carolyn Tome. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McWhorter Funeral Home (1074 TX-300, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
