He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lawrence McDaniel and Bessie Pence McDaniel; his former wife Effie McDaniel; his son Mike McDaniel; and his stepsister Irene Chumley.
He is survived by: his wife Betty McDaniel of Gilmer; his son Dr. Randy McDaniel (Jill) of Gilmer; his grandchildren, Anna Conlan (Pat), Dr. Adam McDaniel (Jennifer), Clay McDaniel (Jennifer) and Lacey Lynch; and his stepchildren, Mike McClure and Paula Altenbamer (Perry). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
