She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry Black and Mamie Marie Ward Black; her daughter Vanessa Kay Davis; and her siblings, Georgie Ferguson, Mary Wanda Benge, John Wayne Black and Shirley Strong.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheilah Ann Taylor (Kent) and Denessa Dawn Castro (Ralph); her brother George Henry Black; her son-in-law Michael Davis; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Myers, Brandy Taylor, Justin McDaniel, Michael Taylor and Eric Archer. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McWhorter Funeral Home (1074 TX-300, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
