He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Joseph and Petronilla Volf Barta; his son Jeffery Blane Barta; his brothers, Adolph J. Barta, Jr. (Sonny) and Robert Gene Barta (Bobby); and his siblings-in-law, W. Wayne Spahn, Robert L. Maddox, Esta Lee Michelson Barta and Wanda Louise Barber Barta.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Ann Barta; his sons, Timothy Lee (Catherine Anne) and Scott Alan (Jane Ellen); his sister Loretta Ann Spahn; his sister-in-law Beatrice Elvera Maddox; his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Castaneda (Christopher), Caroline Blane Barta Montgomery (Andrew), Brett Alan Barta and Braden Lee Barta; his stepgrandchildren, Christopher, John and Megan Janak; his great grandchildren, Theodore Allen Castaneda, Charles Blane Castaneda, James Laith Montgomery and Bennett Andrew Montgomery; and his caregivers, Dian, Ashley, Veronica and Cyndi.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the St. James Catholic Church Cemetery Fund at 317 College Street, Gonzales, Texas, 78629.
