He was predeceased by: his father John H. Ploetz; his wife Gracie Carolyn Ploetz; and his siblings, Gertrude Sandlin, Josephine Teague, Gladys Glenn, Janie Owens, Martin, John and Curtis Ploetz.
He is survived by: his daughter Saralyn; his son-in-law Bill Heath of Buda; his son William Jace Ploetz; his daughter-in-law Kathy of Gonzales; his grandchildren, Kristen Leake (Daniel), Justin Heath "Laurel" and Jason Ploetz "Makenzie"; and his great grandchildren, Dylan and Mayer.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
