He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Herr and Gertrude Herr; and his wife Ruth Herr. He is survived by: his son George E. Herr Jr. (Beverly); his grandchildren, Danica Widstrom, George E. Herr and Jeane Buehler; and his close friend Lisa (David Blankenship). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.

“All of you are in ours prayers as you grieve the loss of a good man and a loving grandfather. George meant the world to Thomas. George was the only grandfather Thomas had. They had a lot in common. Both were adopted and they shared a love of baseball and golf. Thomas is saddened that he was not given a chance to visit George near the end nor did he get a chance to attend the funeral and was excluded from the obituary as a grandchild but you had your reasons for excluding him I'm sure.”
