She was predeceased by: her parents, Grayson Leon Parker and Mabel Vess Parker; her husband Clarence "Larry" Simpson (Airman); and her sister Wanda Lee. She is survived by: her siblings, John Parker, James Parker (Cindy) and Linda Maikell (Joe); her children, Cheryl Bonner (Royal Bud') and David Simpson (Sandie); and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Thomas and Mellie Simpson. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Azle Church of Christ in memory of Joy.
