He is survived by: his brothers, James Steel of Grapeland, Texas and David Steele of Grapeland, Texas; and his siblings' children, Lonnie Steele (Felicia) of Livingston, Texas and Mary Steele of Crockett, Texas. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
