She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew James Carey and Flora Hester Barber Carey; her husband Charles Richardson; and her children, Dianne Adams and Steven Richardson.
She is survived by: her daughter Carolyn Aucoin (Thomas) of Grapeland; her daughter-in-law Cindy Richardson of Scottsdale, Arizona; and her grandchildren, Wendy Wassel (Greg) of Houston, Stephanie Wood (Chad) of Wortham, Shelbi Stockdale (Clint) of Houston, Brandon Marze of Grapeland, Mary Marze of Grapeland, Ashley Boyd (Clay) of Elkhart, Shane Richardson (Richelle), Carsen, Carly and Grace Richardson. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Houston County Share, Inc., a nonprofit organization close to Joy's heart.
