With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Porter Herod of Grapeland, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Porter left this world on June 14, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. In the sacred silence of farewell, Porter is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Herod and Bessie Herod; his son Gary Herod; and his siblings, Charles, Joe Herod, Bobby Herod, Betty Bennett and Marilyn Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Herod; his children, Terry Herod and Tresa Burton (Chuck); and his sister-in-law Sandra. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
