He was predeceased by : his parent Lou Hua Hou. He is survived by : his mother Chun Ying Hsiung; his daughters, Serena Hou Orona and Sarah Hou; his wife Barbara Hou; his granddaughters, Cerys Raine and Rhosyn Grace; and his siblings, James, Lee, Lily, Peter and Rita.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers or gifts that. Memorial donations be sent to: St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3713 E Harwood Rd, Bedford, TX 76021, in memory of John Hou.
