With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Hodges Smith of Greenville, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 18, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Allen Hodges and Mary Gamero Hodges; her husband Carlton D. Smith; her siblings, Robert Hodges, Jesse Hodges Jr., James Hodges, Lucy Collins, Mary Jane Vance and Linnie McCormack; her son Craig D. Smith; her daughter-in-law Kathy Smith; her grandsons, Benjamin Smith and Brian Howard; and her great grandchild Amelia "Mia" Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Barton Smith (Vivianne), Carla Bizzell (Allen), Lisa Aly (Scott) and Jesse Smith (Laura); her grandchildren, Tonita Daniels, Nick, Allison Smith (Nick), Vincent Smith (Verena), Jonathan Smith, Derick Smith, Bonnie Bizzell (Jim), Bradley Bizzell, Chad Smith (Lisa), Corey Sylvis (Craig), Jordan Aly (Danielle), David Aly, Sarah Aly, Rachel Aly, Warren Smith (Lucas) and Emma Ruth Smith; her great grandchildren, Leelah, Aurielle, Nathaniel, Adrie, Robin, Lucas, Kaden, Emmalyn of Auden, JJ, Kensliegh, Carson, Kyler and Avarie; and her sisters, Joyce Barrow and Rose Chieffo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
