He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Joe and Bertha Mae McClain (Gattis); his sons, Thomas McClain, Gerry Don Vaughn and Erick Joe McClain; his grandson Johnny McClain, Jr.; and his brothers, Billy Eugene McClain, Jerry Don McClain and Danny Earl McClain.

He is survived by: his wife Debby; his children, Wanda McClain, Johnny McClain, Travis Vaughn (Machelle) and Derek Joe McClain (Ashli); his daughters-in-law, Suzi McClain and Amber Vaughn; his sister-in-law Jeannette McClain; and his friend Eddie Griffin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
