It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Wade Avant (Groesbeck, Texas), who passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Avant and Cevilla Roark Avant; his daughter Julie Vargas; and his siblings, Chresteen Uloth, Lois Hargraves, Jackie Crowson, Dorothy Beck, Wiley Avant Jr., Lewis Avant and James Avant.
He is survived by: his wife Phyliss Avant; his granddaughter Brittany Vargas Morrow of Lorena; his great grandchildren, Breelyn Jefferson and Cade Morrow of Lorena; and his sibling's children, Honey Suttle (Wesley), Tammy Ramsey (Dan), Sharon Ward, Sandra Sorensen (Mike), Alice Hargraves, Steve Avant (Jackie), Robert Hargraves and Johnny Lehrmann.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel (1215 E Yeagua St, Groesbeck, TX 76642). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Faulkenberry Cemetery (700 Faulkenberry Rd, Groesbeck, TX 76642).
