He is survived by: his wife Đoàn Thị Nguyệt; his daughter-in-law Đỗ Thị Mai; his daughter Đặng Thi Giang Thuỷ; his grandchildren, Đặng Trường Giang, Đặng Trường Sang and Đặng Thi Giang Thư; and his goddaughter Van Tran.
