He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lee Tanton and Gladys Rockman Tanton; and his siblings, Jesse, Bobby Joe, Frank "Cooter", Henry Don, Lillie Ann, Velea, Becky Sue and Judy Lynn.
He is survived by: his sister Betty Jo; his children, Bill (Lynn), Laurie Tanton, David (Kristi Tanton) and Caroline (John Soto); his grandchildren, Kelby, Lucas, Joshua, Madison, Annalee, Kameron and Kelsey; and his great grandchildren, Kobie, Kash, Jace, Sadie and Kelbi. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
