He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Neal Gunter and Ola Lee Doucette Gunter; his sister LaGretha "Toopie" Yarbrough; and his great grandchild Kai Cameron Koen. He is survived by: his wife Hallie JoAnn Gunter; his children, Randy Gunter (Jenny) and Kelley Cooper (Glenn); and his grandchildren, Brian Gunter (Melanie), Cody Croft (Melissa), Matthew Gunter (Rachel), Kadie Koen (Cameron), Kelsi Hilton (Caleb), Jonathan Gunter (Janiece) and Connor Cooper. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Faith and Family Funeral Services (40847 TX-105, Batson, TX 77519). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (40847 TX-105, Batson, TX 77519).
