She was predeceased by : her husband Reverend William "Bill" G. Phipps; her sister Patricia "Pat" M.; her brother-in-law Charles C. Hancock; and her parents, James D. McSwain and Agnes P. McSwain.
She is survived by : her nieces, Helen Hancock of Salem, Virginia and Carol Hancock Whalen (Bruce) of Pine Ridge; and her great-nephews, Marcus (Lisa) of Harlingen and Brian (Carol) of Shawnee. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
