He is survived by: his wife Anna Ortiz-Bernal; his children, Bernadette Bernal, Sergio Bernal, Javier Bernal and Dublin Navarette Jr.; his stepdaughters, Amanda Marie Ortiz, Jessica Marie Ortiz and Casandra Marie Ortiz; his grandchildren, Sergie, Lily Rose, Genevieve, Devanee, Hailey, Avery and Aaron; and his brothers, Francisco "Paco" Bernal (Juanita) and George Bernal (Mary).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Harrison Funeral Home (1002 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit (1002 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A prayer was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Las Rusias Cemetery.
