He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorna Stanford and Weldon Stanford; and his brother Charlie. He is survived by: his wife Milissa Stanford (Mimi) of Haskell; his son Nathan Stanford of Munday; his siblings, Steven (Annette Stanford) of Stamford, Angela (Jerry Walls) of Abilene and Beth Stanford of Haskell; his siblings-in-law, Meranda (Tony Grand) of Haskell, Robbie (Angela Payne) of Tolar and Cooter Payne of Haskell; his nieces and nephews, Hannah (Cody Strickland), Tristen Payne, Ashton Grand (Keleigh Ramirez), Seth Payne, Aerial Payne, Nevaeh Guerrero, Lailah Guerrero, Cadence Payne, Gunnar Payne, Sydney Bolin, Jessica (Jim Woodard) and James Walls; and his great-nieces, Acelynn Strickland and Neylani Ervin.
