He was predeceased by: his parents, John Isbell and Opal McFadden Isbell; his wife Letha Othel McGhee; his children, Dorothy Chesnut, Jackie Dale Isbell and Johnny Ireland Isbell; and his brothers, Tommie, Jimmy and John Jr..
He is survived by: his sons, Alvin Isbell (Valerie) and Tony Isbell (Crete); his daughter-in-law Linda Isbell; and his sister Jessie Maude Kline. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
